Stop Motion
Costume and Puppet Fabrication
I’ve been developing my own stop motion film! These puppets, named Benni (left) and Genevieve (right), are characters from the film. I took a stop motion costume/character design course with Troy Morgan and Melissa Piekaar in Spring 2026, where I really got to explore my passion for stop motion fabrication.
In this 10 week course, I worked closely with the instructors to develop Benni’s character and look, which aided me with skills to develop Genevive outside of class. The armatures are made of wire, aluminum foil, and epoxy putty. The hair is made from yarn and shaped with glue, while the faces are all handpainted polymer clay sculpts. Both puppets use entirely upcycled fabric in their costumes.
